The End of October

After the boys' 6 month check-up we started a completely new schedule...or just a schedule period. Before the boys were 6 months we didn't have too much of a schedule. They pretty much ate and slept when they wanted to and since they were sleeping through the night I let them do pretty much what they wanted to during the day. I still kept them eating together and slept together most of the time but not always. It seemed like they were up an hour down an hour up an hour down an hour all day. I worried about it a little but I was told that they would end up on a schedule and sure enough they did. I talked about our new schedule a bit in the last post and what we were starting but it took off really well and the boys did great with it. We started getting up and having breakfast, about an hour and half to two hours later a bottle, then a nap for an hour to two hours, up for lunch, an hour and a half to two hours later a bottle, up for dinner and then a bottle before bed. So by then end of October they were all set with the new schedule and going to town on solid food. They had banana, applesauce, pumpkin, sweet potato, carrots, avacado and peas. Jackson will eat absolutely anything but Jacob...not so much. Jacob loves anything as long as it isn't green.

Jackson rolled over from his back for the very first time on the 19th. He started rolling over from his back in his bed in the mornings. By the 22nd he started sleeping on his belly. Jacob had been sleeping on his belly already for a while but Jackson hadn't quite mastered the rolling over yet.

On the 27th we took the boys to their very first fall festival. We went with our multiples group. Jackson went as a giraffe and Jacob went as a cow. They were so stinkin adorable!

On the 31st Aunt Amy and I dressed all the kids up and took them to see Mimi at her work and Poppy at his. Jackson was a giraffe again and Jacob was a cow. Trey was Spiderman and Taryn was a ladybug. Later that evening we went to the fall festival at church.

By the end of the month...

Jackson: Still sleeping through the night anywhere from 11-12 hours. Started sleeping on tummy. Started squealing some and saying something close to "mamama" it is more like "mmmmmmmma". :) Jackson loves, loves, loves to eat. Even he doesn't really like something he will still open his mouth for another bite. The only thing he has absolutely denied was avacado. He doesn't like to be held or cradled too much. He would much rather be on the floor playing. His favorite toy is Sofie the giraffe. He loves to chew on her. He is very much so a finger sucker (his first two fingers on his left hand...always). He loves to play peek-a-boo and likes the Jumperoo but tends to spit up in it. He is getting very good at drinking from a sippy cup. He rolls easily from back to tummy but not as easily from tummy to back.

Jacob: Still sleeping through the night anywhere from 11 to 12 hours and still likes to have a soft blankie next to his face to go to sleep. He moves all over his bed when awake but sleeps with head right next to the rail and usually in the corner. I had to buy a breathable bumper for his bed because he kept waking up after hitting his head. The bumper worked perfectly. Rolls very easily from both sides. Squeals very loudly and makes a noise with his mouth open when he is ready for another bite of food. He loves to chew on anything and everything that he can get in his hands. He doesn't like to be held or cradled at all and would much rather be on the floor playing. He loves Sofie the giraffe, the Jumperoo, playing pee-a-boo and looking at books. Eating very well from spoon and drinking pretty good from a sippy cup. I mentioned in an earlier post that Jacob got his first tooth on the 15th of October. He got another tooth on the 19th. He has his two bottom center teeth. They are so cute! He got both of them without any fussing at all. You didn't even know he was cutting teeth. What a champ!!!! Jacob doesn't eat as many different things as Jackson. He wouldn't eat avacado at all, would sometimes eat peas if they were mixed in with carrots but not always but he absolutely loves anything that has applesauce and loves sweet potatoes. He didn't start off too well with banana but loves it now.

What another great month!!!! Here are some pictures!
