We are another week closer. This week is exciting because we are having our very first shower! My office is giving us a shower on Wednesday and I am so excited! Let's see what the boys are up to this week...
Week 24:
Your baby weighs more than a pound and a half right now and sports a crown to rump length of about eight and a half inches (standard letter size).
Wondering what (and who) your baby will look like? If you had a baby camera, you'd almost be able to tell by now. That beautiful face (though still tiny) is almost fully formed. What's still missing from the picture is the fat that will be piled on under baby's skin. Until those fat deposits are made, that very tender skin is still very transparent, which means a close look would let you see clear through to all the organs, bones and blood vessels. Fortunately, that see-through look won't last much longer. Babies at this stage of development are gaining about six ounces each week - with much of that gain coming from fat, in additional to growing organs, bones, and muscle.
What's been playing on your little rocker's stereo system these days? All kinds of sounds can be heard by your baby in your womb: from air exhaling from your lungs (deep breath now), those gastric gurgles produces by your stomach and intestines, your voice and your partner's (which your baby will be able to recognize at birth), and even very loud sounds such as honking horns, barking dogs, or a wailing fire truck.

23 Week Belly Picture
Well here is proof of another week's worth of growing. We went to Mom and Dad's for lunch yesterday, as we usually do on Sunday's after church, and when dad walked in he said "oh my word you are pregnant!". I guess I am really starting to pop out there. I hadn't seen him since Christmas so I am sure I have grown quite a bit in the last two weeks. Although when Justin took my picture tonight he said, "my goodness babe" and he sees me everyday. Hard to believe there is another week gone.
Doctor's Appointment
Justin and I got to see the babies again this last week. Everything was absolutely perfect with the boys and with me. The boys are both about 1 pound each right now. They were not very cooperative for pictures but we did get a few. They were both facing towards my back. We asked Dr. Evitt when she would be planning for the c-section. I will be a full 37 weeks on April 15th which is a Sunday (and also happens to be my Dad's birthday). I asked her if she would plan the c-section the week before that or the week after. She said would plan it for the Monday after, the 16th. We will not officially be on the schedule until around 30 or 32 weeks. Dr. Evitt was very happy with how everything is going although she is still threatening me with bed rest. :) I am just taking it one day at a time and very thankful that I have done so well. We will see her again in two weeks.

23 Week Update
It is a brand new year and so hard to believe! To think back over the last year and what has happened is just amazing. This time last year we were just beginning to start trying to have a baby and look at me now! :) I am so excited to see what all this year is going to bring us. We can hardly wait to meet these boys.
As I mentioned in my last update we went to St.Louis for New Years. My doctor let me have one last trip so I wanted to go see my family. Justin and I usually go every few months so it is going to be hard not being able to go until after the boys arrive. We had a wonderful time though seeing everyone.
Well here we are starting out the 23rd week. Just 14 at the very most left. Crazy!!!! I had a dream last night that the boys came early and I had nothing ready. I hadn't had any showers yet so I had very few things for them. Even though they were early they were perfectly healthy baby boys that were home with us. Let's see what this week has in store for us:
Week 23:
At eight inches and slightly over a pound, your baby is the size and shape of a small doll. (But then, you already knew that you were carrying a living doll, didn't you?) This week marks the beginning of some serious weight gain. Your baby's weight in the next four weeks alone should double (and you may feel as though yours is too).
You have probably heard your developing baby's heartbeat through a Doppler a number of times already (though you never get tired of hearing it), but by now you can also hear it through a standard stethoscope. What a heart throb!
Your baby's skin is reddish in color now because of the developing blood vessels underneath (remember, the skin is very thin still). It also hangs loosely from his or her little body at this point. That's because the skin grows faster than the fat develops during fetal growth. But don't worry. By the time your baby is born, he or she will be pleasantly plump and filled out - from chubby cheeks to chubby toes.

22 Week Belly Picture
Well here I have been thinking that I was growing a good bit. Justin and I went to St.Louis for New Years and they don't think I have grown that much. So then Leslie gets out of her nursing books and it shows the size of my uterus now and what it will be at 40 weeks....um yeah and I still have a lot more growing to do. :) It's all good though. On the way home from St.Louis I told Justin I am ready to have our showers, get everything ready for the boys and hunker down and wait. Here is the picture for week 22!

22 Week Update
It's hard to believe that another week is done. I knew that the holidays would make this go by really fast. I am ever so grateful to have had such an enjoyable pregnancy so far. What a wonderful blessing this has been. 21 weeks down and only 16 weeks to go to make it full term for twins. We can do this boys!!!!! Here is the update for week 22...
Week 22:
Guess what? Your baby has finally broken the one-pound mark. How heavy is that? Hold a one-pound box of sugar in your hand the next time you're in the grocery store (and expect people to ask you why you're grinning from ear to ear). Is the box eight inches long? That's about the length your baby is too!
This week, your sweetie is making more sense of the world as he or she develops the sense of touch. In fact, your little one's grip is quite developed by now - and since there's nothing else to grab in utero, he or she may sometimes hold on tight to that umbilical cord (don't worry - it's tough enough to handle it). The sense of sight is also getting more developed. Your baby can now perceive light and dark much better than before ( even with those fused eyelids). But remember - unless you're shining a flashlight over your belly (which you can do, by the way), it'll be mostly dark for your baby inside that cozy womb of yours.
Moving up from the eyes, the eyelashes and eyebrows are well formed now - and even more hair is sprouting atop that cute little head. You'd be quite surprised, though, if you could see your little one up close and in color. Hair at this stage of fetal development has no pigment, so it's bright white.

21 Week Belly Picture
Here is the belly picture for this week. I am growing but keep in mind that I had just had lots of turkey and homemade noodles when this picture was taken. And yes, I am in my pajamas but it is Christmas and I don't usually get out of PJ's on Christmas day. :) We have a family tradition that has been in our family since I was a very little girl. Everyone gets pajamas on Christmas Eve. That is the one present we open on Christmas Eve. So these are my Christmas pajamas for this year. :)
