My 18 Month Little Boys

It has been a long time since I have posted and yes I am ashamed. However, I look back and am so happy that I was able to post so much through my pregnancy and in the beginning after the boys were born. Maybe one of these days I will become a regular blogger again.

I know I haven't even talked about the boys turning one on here yet (and I promises I will eventually) but I wanted to post about the boys right now.

They are getting so big and sometimes I just want to cry at how quickly they have gone from babies to toddlers. They are waking, running, and talking like crazy. They are so sweet and so much fun. When I took them a few weeks ago for their 18 month check-up, Jackson was 24.6 pounds and Jacob was 20.2. For a while they were exactly three pounds apart but Jackson just keeps gaining on him. It's not that Jackson is even that big for his age (he is somewhere around the 50th percentile) but he seems so much bigger than Jacob. Jacob has been under the 3rd percentile since he was 9 months old. The doctor hasn't been concerned. She said he is developing well and is continuing to track upward on the charts and that she would only be concerned if he plateaued or took a downward turn. They took blood this time as well and she said the blood work was perfect and that would have shown any nutritional problems if Jacob had any. He is just a tiny little guy but that is ok.

Jackson has such a sweet, precious, flirty little face. He is my sensitive little boy. He gets his feelings hurt very easily but at the same time will show a bit of a temper. He has started hitting or throwing things if he gets mad. Then sometimes he will just sit down and cry like you have just shattered his entire world. Sometimes I just have to laugh because he is so stinkin' cute!!!! He is still sucking his first two fingers on his left hand. He used to suck them all the time no matter what. Now he will only suck them if he has a blanket or bib or some type of cloth to hold on to. He will take the blanket and hold it up to his nose and over his mouth. I don't know if he is smelling the blanket or what. It's super cute and we make fun of him....we know you are sucking your fingers Jackson. You can't fool us.....lol. I don't let them walk around with their blankets or anything for that reason because I don't want him to be walking around always sucking his fingers. Jackson loves throwing balls and maybe it's just because I am his mom but I think he has a pretty good arm on him. Jackson knows how to wink and whistle when asked (his wink is with two eyes). He can show me his nose, ears and belly.

Jackson's Words: ball (first word, other than Momma and Dadda), Momma, Dadda, no, nose, belly, yogurt, toodles (from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse), hi, car, blue, yellow, more, night night, please, thank you, football, bye bye

Jacob is my climbing monkey. He is all over the place all the time. He is an absolute ham. He is so funny all the time. He has the funniest little smile and laugh. He is so energetic all the time. First thing in the morning, as soon as I walk in their room, Jacob jumps up and starts jumping/dancing in his bed. Jackson will just lay in his bed and look at him like really brother already this morning?!  It's so funny. He is non stop all day long. Jacob has started throwing temper tantrums a bit. If he gets upset he runs away and falls down on the floor and cries. Or he will run and will fall just to his hands and kick one leg up. It's hilarious. I just let him do what he does and don't baby him. He stops in five seconds and goes on with his day. Jacob sucks his thumb but only through a blanket or his clothes sleeve. I was hoping the whole clothes sleeve thing would stop over the summer with short sleeves because he started it last winter when he was wearing long sleeves all the time. However, he continued while wearing pajamas. So now that we are wearing long sleeves again he wants to suck on his thumb through his clothes. Not real sure how to break that. As bad as Jacob's temper tantrums can be at times, he has turned into such a sweet, thoughtful little boy. If he gets something for himself, he always takes one to Jackson first. If he grabs his cup, he grabs Jackson's and take his to him. If there are two toys, he takes one to Jackson no matter where he is. Some times I wonder if they will even like each other because they don't always seem to even care the other one is around.  Then there are moments like those when I know they will be best friends. Jacob can two eye "wink" when asked. He can show me his nose and ears and belly.

Jacob's Words: doggy (first word, other than Mommy and Daddy), Mommy, Daddy, more, no, nose, Mickey, night night, love you, thank you, football, let's go, ok, hi, milk, knee, bye bye

Both of the boys absolutely love music. Any time music comes on anywhere they stop what they are doing and dance, wave their arms and bob their heads. Makes this momma, who loves music as well, very happy. They both blow kisses all the time. It is the cutest thing ever. They will just blow them to anyone who says hellos to them. Lol

This doesn't even scratch the surface of who my sweet boys are and how proud I am to be their mommy. I am so full of joy every day because God chose to bless me with two little boys. Just this week I looked at them and wondered how in the world I got so blessed to be the mother of twins. It still blows my mind that I am a mommy and even more so to twins. lol

I am going to try and start writing more even if I don't get to share all my pictures. I want to remember this time because I know it is going to pass so quickly. It seems like just yesterday they are turning one and I know they will be two before I know it. It's just crazy!!!!!!! I love my baby boys.

Here is a picture we took of the boys when they turned 18 months in their first pair of size 18m jammies.
